Machu Picchu Ticket Reservation. Peru’s Ministry of Culture has changed the ticket purchasing process for Machu Picchu. Previously, the *tuboleto.cultura.pe* platform allowed you to reserve a ticket for three hours while arranging payment; under the new system, however, you have a maximum of 15 minutes to complete the payment, after which the ticket is released back into the system. This process applies if you are purchasing your ticket independently; if you book through a travel agency, you need not worry, as they will handle the arrangements for you.

Under this new system, domestic and international tourists must make a direct purchase with confirmed payment. This ensures that tickets for a selected Machu Picchu circuit or route are not held for extended periods without the transaction being completed.
